Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh organised an Expert Lecture on The Evolution of Sri Harmandar Sahib - Sri Amritsar - A Divine Connect between Structure and Scripture in keeping with  the best practice of Heritage and Cultural Preservation promoted by the College. Ar Rawal Singh Aulakh, Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, Guru Nanak Dev University, was the resource person .He highlighted the evolution and architectural concepts of Sri Harmandar Sahib. He pointed out that the original Darbar Sahib was a green structure, erected with material sourced and prepared locally at the site. Drawing on the connections between structure and scriptures, Ar Aulakh spoke at length about how the architectural structure of Sri Harmandar Sahib is in consonance with the teachings of the Gurbani. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where the students’ queries about cross- cultural and intertextual connections were thoroughly answered by the resource person.

Dr Navjot Kaur, Principal thanked the resource person for his invaluable insights and commended the Department of History for organising the event.
