Dr Navjot Kaur took charge as Principal of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh today. The honour was bestowed upon her by S Gurdev Singh Brar, President, Sikh Educational Society. Col (retd) Jasmer Singh Bala, Secretary SES and S Karandeep Singh Cheema, Joint Secretary SES, wished her good luck for her future endeavours.
Dr Navjot has an illustrious academic career spanning 25 years. Dr Navjot has many distinctions to her credit, she has authored books with International publications, written many research papers for reputed journals, and has also been a member of their Advisory Board/Editing/Reviewing Committee. She has delivered lectures at various International/National Conferences and Workshops. She has also supervised many PhD students. She has completed short-term courses at University of London and University of Edinburgh with a scholarship. She has been a member of the Postgraduate Board of Studies, PU Chandigarh for 6 years and is currently a member of the Syllabi-framing Committee, PU Chandigarh.
Dr Navjot has held various administrative positions in the College such as Bursar, Dean Research, Registrar Publications, NIRF Nodal Officer, Nodal Officer Electoral Literacy Club, Editor-in-Chief College Magazine, Co-ordinator Gurmat Hobby Classes, Co-ordinator UGC NET Classes, Co-ordinator MA Co-opted classes, Co-ordinator Guru Nanak Sacred Forest SGGS College, Co-ordinator Young Speakers’ Association. She was instrumental in establishing Guru Nanak Sacred Forest which has 550 native trees of Punjab (37 species) on the College campus and collaborated with various Govt Institutes (PBB, ENVIS, PSCST, CREST, Forest & Wildlife Preservation Deptt. and Deptt. of Water & Soil Conservation).

Her future vision is to lead the prestigious Sri Guru Gobind Singh College into an institute of higher academic excellence with a global presence.
