Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26 , Chandigarh and the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University are conducting an online 7-day Faculty Development Programme under the aegis of RUSA on Research in Sciences – Novel Tools and Methodologies from 3rd-9th August. Dr. Ruchira Sen and Dr. Ranber Singh of SGGS College are coordinating the course. On 3rd August, the inaugural function was graced by Prof Arvind, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala, Prof. S.K. Tomar, the honorary director of UGC-HRDC, Panjab University and Dr. Navjot Kaur, Principal of SGGS-26. Prof. S.K. Tomar spoke about the importance about multidisciplinary research. Prof. Arvind gave pointers to be remembered while doing research as well as encouraged the participants to carry out research even in the change times due to the pandemic.

Prof Raghavendra Gadagkar from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, gave the keynote lecture titled, “Science for all – How to do cutting edge research on a shoestring budget”. 40 faculty members from various colleges and universities of India are attending the course.
