SGGSC COMMEMORATES NATIONAL STARTUP DAY
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh commemorated National Startup Day by felicitating three young entrepreneurs and Alumni of the College. Ms Sonam Sharma, Mr Shivansh Sharma and Mr Sukhvir Singh were felicitated by the Principal for their innovative and budding startups.
Ms Sonam Sharma runs a successful venture named Shubhrang, a traditional couture store providing employment to designers and craftsmen producing handmade fabric and original designs promoting cutting-edge innovation. Mr Shivansh Sharma owns a startup called Money-Math which deals in the derivative market, working purely on commission based business model. Mr Sukhvir Singh runs a successful venture named Bathlana Jaggery serving 9 varieties of Jaggery providing healthy alternatives to harmful sugar.
The event also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurs who play a crucial role in building a robust startup ecosystem and transform India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers. The event concluded with an interactive session, where the students’ queries were thoroughly answered by the Alumni.
Dr Navjot Kaur, Principal motivated the students to work hard and come up with innovative ideas to contribute towards the economic development of the society. She commended the efforts of Institution Innovation Cell for organising the event.
